The Kingdom Kerry team pulled of a 0-11 into a 2-2 victory on Saturday night in their Allianz NFL Division 1A battle against the Cork Rebels at the Austin Stack Stadium in Tralee.

During the second half Bryan Sheehan was red carded but did not affect the team being that just three minutes later, Noel O’Leary of Cork was also discharged. Cork was certainly aggravated and was unable to control the game while Kerry conquered in both offensive and defensive play that led the scoreboard to light up in their favor with two players recording scores for the Kingdom.

Declan Quill and Sheehan, of Kerry, were two key players that gave great hassle to the Rebels defensive and Quill ended the math with 0-6 to his name.  At halftime, Kerry led 0-6 to 1-2 and into the third quarter four unanswered points, two each from Sheehan and Quill, helped in the outcome of the game.

Towards the end of the game just two points separated the teams and Quill’s late free from 50 yards was decisive as there was still time for Cork to get a hold of an equalizer but Spillane’s own first-time attempt was banked outstandingly by Murphy.
