Montoya’s team wins in Daytona

By Stephen Lars

Juan Pablo Montoya, co-driving a Lexus Riley Daytona Prototype with veteran road racer Scott Pruett and Mexican star Salvador Duran, are part of the elite team.

On Sunday morning, Montoya gave his team the lead and Pruett kept it to the end. This will be the second year on a row that Ganassi’s team wins the grueling 24-hour event.

He and great racing driver Mario Andretti are the only ones to have won the Indianapolis 500. Former IRL champions Dan Wheldon and Scott Dixon combined with NASCAR driver Casey Mears won the 2006 race.

Much is expected for this 2007 Nascar racing, especially after Motoya’s statements on how he was going to bring to the sport what it was missing. Additionally, there are many other professional drivers of whom we will be seeing and hearing lots of news about.
