South Africa maintains their record

South Africa’s win by five wickets on Sunday led by Jacques Kallis and Ashwell Prince against Pakistan reserved South Africa’s record of never having lost a home test series to a team from the Asian sub-continent.

The match took place in New Lands, Cape Town and the joint venture was the largest of a competition in which 32 wickets fell on the first two days and on the third day of the series they reached their conquest aim of 161 previous to the tea off to give them what would be their victory by five wickets and make them eligible to claim the series.

The Kallis and Prince duo was the secret in these matches defeat. Each batted carefully establishing a rate of less than two runs before midday. Kallis ended with a total of 51 runs and 149 balls while Prince finished with 59 runs and 141 balls.

Pakistan appealed when Asif and Kaneria were bowling but Umpires Steve Bucknor and Peter Parker ruled out the appealing.
