Cardinals has a new coach

By Stephen Lars

Ken Whisenhunt was named new Arizona Cardinals’ Head Coach, he will be replacing Dennis Green, who was dismissed a couple of weeks ago after three consecutive losing seasons. The 44-year-old Coach signed a four-year contract with the option of an extension of one extra year.

There were a total of eight prospects for the position, but Whisenhunt was one of only two who got a second meeting. Former Green Bay Packers Coach Mike Sherman was the other person called in.

Since 1984, the Cardinals have had one winning season, and one playoff appearance. And since 1947, they achieved one playoff victory winning the NFL championship of that same year.
