Xabi Alonso Back to La Liga

Midfielder Xabi Alonso is expected to return to Spain for La Liga’s next soccer season to play with Atletico Madrid.

The team, Atletico Madrid, is currently ranked fourth place in La Liga’s table after an excellent season and rumors have it that they are eager to sign Alonso, whom currently plays in England for Liverpool and wears number 14, before the start of their next season. He has actually become their main target as they are looking to maintain young and fresh talent on their team roster, such as young star Fernando Torres.

Although, the team has not yet been in touch with Liverpool, Spanish newspapers appoint to them making their moves in just a matter of time and are very positive in his come back into the country.

Alonso played for Real Sociedad in the past summer of 2004 and was later transferred to Liverpool for the sum £10 million.  Even though he was a newcomer in England, he has been very successful and has more than proved his talent. Some of his marvelous moments include Liverpool’s win over AC Milan in the Champions League Final of May 2005 in Istanbul.

The point lays in wherever he plays he is most certainly sure to excel and ascend whether continuing as midfielder or giving it a shot as forward after proving he is more than capable of making a goal or two per game.
