Vick’s behavior cost him $10,000

By Stephen Lars Vick was fined $10,000 by the NFL and agreed to donate another $10,000 to charity for an obscene hand gesture toward Falcons fans following last weekend’s loss to New Orleans.

Michael Vick apologized for making an obscene gesture toward Atlanta fans as he walked off the field after the Falcons’ fourth straight loss Sunday. Vick used both hands to bring the gesture and flashed an angry look to the handful of fans remaining in the Georgia Dome.  The incident will do nothing to enhance Vick’s image in some quarters of this city, where his play often has a polarizing outcome and where some fans hold him culpable for the Falcons’ ongoing offensive struggles. Additionally, the latter events will not sit well with owner Arthur Blank, who is extremely keen about image almost as much as he does on victories.
