Goodbye to Bernardini

It’s official! The classic runner up 3-year-old colt was retired on Monday.

This past Breeder’s Cup 2006 was Bernardini’s last race, he entered as an even money favorite, in which he finished second place; Invasor beat Bernardini by a length as he overtook the stretch. Two days later he ended his career.

Some of his victories include the Preakness, Travers, Jockey Club Gold Cup and being the leading Horse of the Year.

During his excellent racing career he won six out of eight races and made the sum of $3,060,480. Bernardini is now at the Darley farm with a stud fee of $100,000.
